faq’s things to know

We have unique style and ability to capture personalities and emotions, in the right lighting to give you precious memories that will last a lifetime. We are artists, and with our creative eye will work with you to create a style of shoot that best suits you.

Our portrait sittings are $200 for up to 6 people (one family), $20 for each additional person. The final cost depends on you. Once you have chosen your prints and decided on sizes and products, Simply Photography will work with you to find the perfect package to suit your portrait needs. We allow up to one hour for most shoots and newborns Up to four hours.

We believe the best time for a pregnancy portrait session is usually around 34-37 weeks into the pregnancy. As babies can be unpredictable and surprise us at anytime, it’s recommended not to leave it too late.

The best time to photograph newborns are within the first two weeks of life as they are still very sleepy and can easily be curled. After two weeks babies become more alert and easily woken therefore making our newborn signature shots difficult to achieve. It is not always smooth sailing as babies even in the first two weeks, as they can also have their bad days. Sessions may take up to four hours allowing time for feeding, settling, cuddles and sleep.

Yes of course. Simply Photography aims to capture you and your loved ones in a comfortable environment. During initial consultation we’ll work with you to determine the best place to achieve your desired results.

Yes, we have a hair and makeup artist available at an extra charge if needed.

There are many locations, Simply Photography will work with you to find the right location to suit the style that best reflects your personality. There are a range of great locations from Sydney beaches to Blue Mountains bush lands and lots of other unique spots for different individual styles.

The best time for portrait shoots on location is in the afternoon as the lighting is more flattering and gives a softer warmer feel. We suggest that newborn shoots in the studio or at home are best in the mornings, as this is when we find the baby is most settled.

Pets can be such a big part of our lives. Including your pets in your portraits is a great idea. We suggest bringing treats and leads for easy management on the shoot.

One to two weeks after your portrait session you will be invited for a slideshow viewing on the big screen. In this time you’ll get to choose your package. It then takes approximately four-five weeks from the end of your viewing for your amazing images to be ready for collection.

Plain classic clothing without logos is timeless. Try to avoid heavily patterned clothing and stripes as this can draw the eye away from the subject.

  • Wear colours that compliment each other.
  • Whites, creams and neutral colours and denim work well together.
  • Avoid transition lenses, if you have non-reflective glasses bring them with you.
  • With small children/ babies bring cloth nappies and an extra set of clothes incase of an accident.
  • Toddlers look great in denim (overalls), plain white dress for young girls
  • Bring along a favourite toy to keep kids happy.
  • Bring a towel in case they get wet at the beach.
